28 January 06: Haddington, West Philly neighborhood tour

Haddington. My hood. 18 years and counting.

This area, tucked away between Overbrook, Cobbs Creek Park and West Park, is on the edge of West Philadelphia. Evidence of its wealthy past is reflected in the flourishes and details of its largely intact housing stock.

Though the area, like many of its economic stature, is less than ideal, it maintains a generally homey feel with no acres of abandon or cars on cinderblocks. People live here. People work here and it's a place that's far from dead.

Take a walk around my neighborhood.

BEGIN.
