The day before Presidents Day -- Sunday night -- is one of the better bar nights every year. No one has to go to work the next day, and who doesn't love a three day weekend? Add a Storm of the Century into the mix, and you'll find yourself packed in shoulder to shoulder at your favorite bar. That was the case at Doobies Sunday, February 17, 2003. Among the participants were neighborhoodies Mark, Scott and John.

About ten inches of snow had fallen already, a few more by the time we left the bar. John and I for some reason decided we needed to wake early and take his 4x4 pickup truck on a long drive in the snow. Having nowhere to go, we left G-Ho good and groggy around 8am, somehow passed through Northern Liberties heading north and hung a left on Lehigh, taking us through the heart of North Philly. We bumped around through Kensington, Yorktown, Central and Strawberry Mansion before coming home. We even gave a dude a lift to 33rd & Diamond.

Here's a bonus video of our adventure after we determined we wouldn't be able to keep going forward OR three-point turn around.
